Lobby for a Maternity Information Act:

Currently, there are only two States, New York and Massachusetts, that have legislation requiring hospitals to provide the public, including all potential maternity care patients, with an informational pamphlet outlining their rates of obstetric interventions and maternity care services. Thanks to these laws, the public now has the right to access this information from their hospitals and the Department of Health.

Unfortunately, this is not the case in the rest of the country.

The Grassroots Advocates Committee (GAC) of CIMS is interested in partnering with local volunteers who can help introduce Maternity Information Act Legislation in their State. If you are interested in getting involved, contact us at info@thebirthsurvey.com
